Terms of Service
The deal between us.
These terms describe how you may use Liquid's software — our mobile apps, browser extension, and any related sites. Liquid is non-custodial: you hold your keys, you make your trades, you take the risk. Read this in full before you use the product.
1. What Liquid is — and isn’t
Liquid is non-custodial. We publish software that generates a private key on your device and uses it to interact with public blockchains and third-party services (DEXes, lending markets, bridges, card issuers, perp venues). We never hold your funds and we cannot move them on your behalf. We are not a broker, exchange, custodian, money transmitter, investment adviser, or bank.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to use cryptoasset products in your jurisdiction. You agree you are not on a US or EU sanctions list and not located in a comprehensively sanctioned territory (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the non-government-controlled regions of Ukraine).
3. Your account, your keys
- Your private key is generated and stored on your device. If you lose it — and your recovery method — your funds are unrecoverable. We cannot reset, recover, or freeze any wallet.
- You are responsible for the security of the device, the seed phrase, and any biometric or passkey credentials you use to unlock the app.
- If you import a seed phrase from another wallet, you accept full responsibility for the keys you bring in.
4. Third-party services
Liquid surfaces third-party protocols and integrations: swap aggregators, yield vaults, bridges, perp orderbooks (including Hyperliquid), xStocks tokens, card issuers, and others. Those services are independent of Liquid, have their own terms, and may charge their own fees. Liquid is not responsible for the security, availability, pricing, or behavior of any third-party service.
5. No investment advice
Nothing in Liquid — prices, market lists, returns, recommended vaults, agent suggestions, copy, push notifications — constitutes investment advice. Markets are volatile. Smart contracts can fail. Tokens can go to zero. Make your own decisions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Liquid to:
- Violate any applicable law, sanction, or court order.
- Knowingly facilitate fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing, or market manipulation.
- Interfere with or attack the apps, our infrastructure, or any third-party protocol Liquid integrates with.
- Reverse-engineer the app for the purpose of bypassing security controls (legitimate security research is welcome through our bug bounty).
7. Fees
Liquid may charge a service fee on certain in-app actions (swaps, bridges, card spend, agent-executed transactions). Fees are displayed before you sign. Network gas, third-party protocol fees, and card scheme fees are separate and are also displayed in-flow where possible.
8. Beta features and changes
Some features ship as beta and may change or be removed. We may update these terms; if changes are material, we’ll surface them in-app before they take effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Liquid is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Liquid is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of funds caused by user error, third-party services, smart-contract failure, market movement, network congestion, compromised devices, or stolen seed phrases. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of our operating entity. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration to the extent permitted by law. You retain any non-waivable rights granted by your local consumer protection laws.
